This HIV Training Module for Caregivers is a self-paced, text-based educational course designed for Companions, Home Health Aides (HHAs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Registered Nurses (RNs), and Advanced Placement Registered Nurses (APRNs) in Florida, as required by F.S. 400.506 (8)(e). This 1-hour CEU module covers HIV transmission, infection control procedures, clinical management, prevention strategies, and Florida laws related to HIV testing, confidentiality, and patient rights. Participants will learn about safe caregiving practices, standard precautions, the role of antiretroviral therapy (ART), and the importance of reducing stigma. Per F.S. 400.506 (8)(e) This training module aims to equip Companions, Home Health Aides (HHAs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Licesned Practical Nurses (LPNs), Registered Nurses (RNs), and Advanced Placement Registered Nurses (APRNs) with essential knowledge about Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). Participants will learn about transmission, infection control procedures, clinical management, prevention strategies, and the legal framework surrounding HIV in Florida.
