Course Description
This course provides CNAs and HHAs with essential knowledge and practical strategies to safely and effectively assist clients recovering from surgery in the home care setting. The training addresses common postoperative needs, complications to monitor, personal care tasks, mobility assistance, pain management, and the importance of infection prevention. Designed as a supplement to initial CNA/HHA training, this module helps reinforce professional skills and builds confidence in supporting clients during a vulnerable recovery period.
Participants will learn how to identify warning signs of complications, perform routine duties such as hygiene and dressing assistance, and document postoperative observations accurately. The course also covers emotional support, patient safety precautions, and effective communication with supervising nurses and families.
