I am an In-Home Caregiver, Do I Need 1-Hour or 2-Hour Alzheimer’s Training?

I am an In-Home Caregiver. Do I Need 1-Hour or 2-Hour Alzheimer’s Training?

If you are a caregiver in Florida, you might see multiple Alzheimer’s classes — a 1-hour and a 2-hour course (sometimes more for nursing facilities).
Many people ask, “Which one do I need?”

Here’s the easy answer:
For in-home care, Florida caregivers need both!

Why Two Classes

Florida law says caregivers who help people with Alzheimer’s must understand the disease and how to give safe, kind care.
Each class teaches something different.

FREE! 1-Hour Class

This class is for caregivers who give hands-on care, like HHAs or CNAs.
You must take it within 30 days after you start working, although many businesses require it right away.

2-Hour Class

This course is required for caregivers who also plan care, schedule visits, or work in the office.
You must take it within 3 months after you start, although many offices require it initially as well.

Even if you already have “Alzheimer’s Training,” it must be DOEA-approved — and many trainings simply are not.

C-E-U.com offers Florida-required Alzheimer’s Training that is DOEA approved. It’s fast, affordable, and easy to complete.
