Ethical practice and appropriate patient interactions are essential to safe, respectful, and compliant healthcare delivery. This course focuses on the everyday decisions healthcare practitioners make when communicating with patients, protecting privacy, maintaining professional boundaries, documenting objectively, and responding to concerns in a calm and respectful manner.

The course is designed for District of Columbia healthcare practitioners working in clinical, long-term care, assisted living, home care, and community-based settings. It addresses the practical realities of direct care, including personal conversations, patient vulnerability, family involvement, social media, telehealth communication, gifts, favoritism, confidentiality, and respectful redirection when boundaries become unclear.
