The Board allows online renewal for a limited period after the expiration date, but nurses should renew before expiration to avoid an interruption in active licensure.
Maryland also warns that renewal applications received fewer than 30 days before expiration are not guaranteed to be processed before the license expires. Nurses should complete applicable continued-competency and state-specific training requirements as early as possible.
